Takenaka and Ajinomoto Win Prizes at 22nd Global Environment Awards

Aiming to attain industrial growth and harmony with the global environment, Fujisankei Communications Group announced on Feb 28, 2013, the results of the 22nd Global Environment Awards, a commendation system for the industrial sector established in cooperation with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Japan. JFS's corporate members were among the winners.

Purposes of the award program are: to develop new technologies and products which contribute to the prevention of global warming and the realization of a sustainable society; to promote environmental conservation activities and related businesses; to seek a social system for the 21st century; and to further raise awareness of global environmental conservation.

Among the winners, Takenaka Corporation and Ajinomoto Co. are the JFS supporting organizations. Takenaka won the Land, Infrastructure and Transportation Minister's Award for its efforts to build wooden structures that contribute to realizing a sustainable society by developing a fire-resistant, laminated lumber material. Ajinomoto won the Fujisankei Communications Group Prize for its green economy practices and its group-wide efforts toward sustainable development.
