Miyazaki Solar Way Co., a subsidiary of Kokusai Kogyo Holdings Co., being involved with building and maintaining social infrastructure and known as a leading company in the field of energy and green businesses in Japan and overseas, finally completed a large-scale solar power plant, "second stage of Tsuno SolarWay" in southern Japan, Miyazaki Prefecture in February 2011. Its construction had started in September 2010.

The new solar power plant was designed according to the result of the first demonstrative solar power facility, first stage of Tsuno SolarWay(50kW), which had built on the elevated former Maglev test track in April 2010. The second stage of Tsuno SolarWay consists of 12,520 solar modules arrayed after the first stage of Tsuno SolarWay stretching out a roughly 3.6-kilometer-long near the Hyuganada Sea. The capacity of the second stage of Tsuno SolarWay is 1,000 kilowatts (1MW), which is enough to supply approx. 300 households.

Tsuno SolarWay is specially designed against typhoons, rust and corrosion and its lifespan is estimated about 20 years. Although there is no personnel on the site, they are remotely monitored all the time and also maintained regularly.

The project began in April 2009 and is currently in operation as part of the "Miyazaki Solar Frontier Vision," a comprehensive sustainable initiative being carried out with a three-way partnership among Miyazaki Prefecture, Tsuno town and the Kokusai Kogyo Group.
