Kyoto Industry Eco-Energy Promotion Organization Established

The Kyoto Consortium for industrial development announced on July, 2012, that it has reorganized the Kyoto Industry Eco Promotion Organization and renamed it the Kyoto Industry Eco-Energy Promotion Organization. The consortium aims to construct an industrial support system for the next generation by all related parties in Kyoto in order to help small and medium-sized enterprises to make further progress in developments.

The new organization will be joined by municipalities and industrial organizations, including Kyoto Prefecture, Kyoto City, the Kyoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Kyoto Industrial Association, and other industrial support organizations. It will work as a platform to help strengthen new energy industries based on electricity and energy supply-demand issues following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, in addition to the conventional environmental and ecological issues promoted by the previous organization.

Work during the first year will focus on the creation and promotion of eco-energy industries, including businesses to promote energy self-sufficiency, as well as various business initiatives to promote demonstration projects and the spread of new energy technologies.
