Matsushita Group Holds CSR Procurement Conference for Chinese Suppliers

The Matsushita Group opened a CSR Procurement Conference for its Chinese suppliers in Shanghai and Guangzhou in March 2007, attracting 2,300 attendees from 2,000 Chinese companies.

As Matsushita values its partnership with suppliers with regard to providing services to meet customers' needs, the group investigates and acknowledges its global suppliers' individual stance on CSR both before and after entering purchase agreements. Suppliers regarded as 'excellent' in their CSR activities promote partnership with Matsushita and are encouraged to contribute to their sustainable societies.

At the conference, the group elaborated on its policy to do business with companies who diligently work on CSRs; observing ordinances, information security, environmental protection, and respecting human rights. By pledging "Clean Procurement," the group also called attention to the development of fair and business partnerships on a global scale.
