Honda to Reduce CO2 Emissions from Global Products by 30%

Honda Motor Co. declared on June 21, 2011, its objective to globally reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from its products by 30 percent. This is part of its Environmental Annual Report 2011 that addresses climate change and energy issues as the most important business management issues, and established CO2 emissions reduction targets toward 2020. Honda determined a new global environmental slogan, "Blue Skies for Our Children" and will aim to realize Honda Environmental Vision, "the Joy and Freedom of Mobility" and "a Sustainable Society where People Can Enjoy Life."

Honda will strengthen its efforts to reduce CO2 emissions through its entire corporate activities, including production and supply chain. The company will also develop total energy management technology to reduce CO2 emissions both from personal mobility and daily lives.

In addition, Honda has established a global environmental slogan and symbol as an expression of the company's proactive commitment to advance its environmental efforts around the world, with the aim of becoming a front runner in environmental and energy technologies.
