Keywords: Climate Change Manufacturing industry

On June 29, 2007, the Mitsubishi Electric Group publicized its fiscal 2006 report detailing its environment conservation efforts and social activities against global warming. By investments equivalent to 0.1 percent of production value, Mitsubishi will achieve its voluntary goal to reduce CO2 emissions by 25 percent from fiscal 1990 levels in fiscal 2007. The report also says that the group has developed a wide variety of energy efficient products, which contribute to global warming prevention by reducing CO2 emissions due to product use.

Switching its CO2 emissions intensity index to "emissions per unit of real sales", they have set a goal to reduce CO2 emissions by at least 60 percent compared to fiscal 1990 levels. They plan to continue to reduce annual CO2 emissions by 10,000 tons through capital investment.
