Wakayama Prefecture Reduces Greenhouse Gases by 13%

Wakayama Prefecture announced that it emitted about 527,000 tonnes of greenhouse gases from operations of the local government in fiscal 2001, a reduction of 13 percent from 1999. The co-generation system installed at the prefectural medical school reportedly brought about a large part of the reduction.
