- "Corporate Sustainability Reports of the World" study series launched in Tokyo!

JFS has launched a three-part series of seminars to read sustainability reports issued by corporations outside Japan in order to discuss such issues as how they differ from Japanese reports, how they are dealing with the challenge of building trust in society, and how they communicate negative aspects about their practices.

The first seminar was held on March 23, 2004, in Tokyo. Participants' comments include, "very instructive in planning English reports as well as Japanese ones." "I enjoyed the relaxed, easy-to-communicate atmosphere." "I am in charge of making my company's report, and this session inspired me." The seminars are open to JFS corporate supporters. - First JFS book coming soon! "Japan for Sustainability • Progress Unknown to the World"

Just one and half years since being created, JFS is publishing a book to feature its past monthly newsletters and feedback from our readers around the world. Titled "Ganbatte-iru Nihon wo sekai wa mada shiranai," this book is a concise compendium of a variety of environmental initiatives taken by government, industry, and NGOs during the past year. The book, to be published in Japanese by Kaizosha, will be out in stores in mid-April 2004. Happy reading!
