Japan for Sustainability(JFS) is a non-profit communication platform to
disseminate environmental information from Japan to the world, with the
aim of helping both move onto a sustainable path.
In this issue:
- Water Resources and Use in Japan
- Promoting Rainwater Utilization
- "Unique NGOs in Japan" Article Series: No. 3 Corporate Executives Working for the Environment and Dialoguing with Environmental NGOs: Business Leaders' Inter-Forum for Environment 21 (B-LIFE21)
As announced in the previous JFS newsletter, we just have set up a page
of links on our website for visitors to obtain English versions of
environmental (sustainability) reports of Japanese companies. Now we
have links to JFS's corporate member companies and the links will be
expanded in the future to include a majority of about the 100 companies
who have English versions of environmental (sustainability) reports.
We hope you enjoyed this issue of the JFS Newsletter. We will be
delivering more information every month from Japan on activities and
developments in the field of the environment. Please visit our website
for the latest news! http://www.japanfs.org/
And please send your comments or requests to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here is one comment we received from a reader in Canada:
Just wanted to say thanks for the continued updates on what is going on
in Japan. It is good to see actual steps being taken. Canada
unfortunately talks too much. We do have things happening, but from the
inside it seems to take forever to get things actually done.
Keep up the great work.
Are the regenerative bicycles successful? It seems that we haven't been
doing it before because the return was so small due to the lack of
inertia (light weight) issue. I was never sure this was valid because it
is also a light weight issue for driving it....
Thank you for your note. It is always encouraging to hear how people
view our activities. I will forward your note to all volunteer staff.
The regenerative bicycles we wrote in the article are less than
22.7kg in all models, according to the press release. I have not tried it
yet, but when I do, I certainly would deliver my report to you!
Thank you again for your interest and support for us.
We will be back next month with more news.
