Non-profit Group of Young Japanese Supports Other NPOs

A new Non-profit organization (NPO) has developed a novel method for relating the activities of NPOs to the general public. A-con, which stands for Action unit for COmmunicative NPOs, consists of Japanese business people and students in their late 20s. Its mission is to raise awareness by publishing information on the activities of Japanese NPOs.

There are many Japanese NPOs doing good work, but few Japanese are aware of their activities, as a result of poor communication. A-con works with these NPOs to improve communication about their actions with the general public. As a result, A-con helps such NPOs to be understood and supported all around Japan.

The members of A-con come from professional fields in Japanese corporations and NPOs, and their skills are complementary, allowing them to complete tasks in a range of professional fields. In addition, their unique efforts have helped to expand their skills. Most members of A-con believe that improving the understanding of NPO activities among the general public will only increase the need for their own efforts.
