Fair Outline
Japanese environmental technologies are considered by some to be the best in the world. However, these technologies have not expanded as much as expected, and the issues related to global warming are becoming more urgent. To encourage wider use of environmentally friendly products, we cannot simply rely on businesses or technologies to lead the way; we need to make use of social power, which includes the power of the national and local governments, NPOs, students and citizens. Eco-Products 2009 is an exhibition of the power of business persons, the consuming public and students, as well as companies and governments.
* "Eco product" is used to denote environmentally friendly products and services.
The Exhibition is organized by JEMAI, and the Nikkei Shimbun

At the Exhibition, Japan for Sustainability (JFS) and EcoNetworks (ENW) will hold
an English guided tour of selected exhibitors specially designed for foreigners who need any
language assistance in English, Chinese, and Korean.

In this tour, four to six participants per group will visit selected booths with staff
and learn the latest development in Japan's environmental initiatives and products. You will be able to listen to the exhibitors' explanation of their activities in English, and staff will help you to feedback your questions and opinions to the exhibitors, allowing both you and the exhibitors to find some inspirations from the dialogue. If you would like to know more about the tour, you can find what the last year's tour was like at JFS English Guided Tour Report 2008.

We will look for latest products and services that may be more suitable for use in countries outside of Japan. We will also introduce you to Japanese traditional eco products and its modern innovation.

Whether you have been interested in Japan's environmental activities or not, this is a great opportunity to learn this booming topic and have first-hand discussions with industry experts. Apply now to participate in this informative tour.
