Next Energy and Resources Co., a company focusing on natural-energy-related businesses, announced on December 19, 2008, the launch of its new business of renting out a stand-alone solar power generation system to supply outdoor events with "green" power.

The rental package includes all the necessary equipment to produce electricity onsite, including two 60-watt solar panels, a battery, an inverter, an installation stand, and so on. Without needing any special technical knowledge, users can easily assemble the system in about 20 minutes with the help of an instruction manual. The system has a maximum output of 350 watts, and it enables a 100-watt power device to operate for three hours with a backup battery. The system can automatically switch to a regular power source if the battery runs low.

The basic rental plan costs 49,800 yen (U.S.$550) for four days (domestic delivery only, including tax, plus delivery cost). The company says it's also possible to create a specialized rental agreement depending on the size of event.
