Japanese Convenience Store Chain Starts Selling Fair Trade Products

In a first in Japan's convenience store business, Ministop,a leading convenience store chai, and People Tree, a pioneering fair trade brand,jointly announced the launch of sales of three kinds of fair trade products in November 2008 at every Ministop shop. The sales will be finished as soon as the present stock has run out.

This is the first time for a convenience store chain to carry People Tree's fair trade products. Proceeds from the sales of People Tree additive-free dry mangos, organic bitter chocolates, and milk chocolates will go towards supporting economically vulnerable people in developing countries.

As for two types of chocolate, they are almost sold out at as of February 27, 2009.
