Mizuho Bank Launches Green Investment Trust
Mizuho Bank of Japan launched on November 19, 2007 an open-type investment trust fund, the "Fidelity Three Basic Fund" (a.k.a.: Energy of Water and Land). The fund is to be invested in stocks of the world's leading companies that deal with any of three dynamic and highly specialized subjects; clean energy, water and agriculture amid growing concerns about global environmental changes, such as water shortages, food, and energy problems and global warming.

The fund will mainly invest in companies that are listed on stock exchanges and are related to clean energy, water businesses and food businesses via three mother funds. The allocation rate for beneficiary certificates of the three mother funds is basically set at one third each.

The bank plans to greatly increase the number of environment/resource-related financial products that are of interest to customers.
