Toppan Printing Co., a major printing company in Japan, was recognized as one of the "Global 100: Most Sustainable Corporations in the World 2007," it was announced on January 29, 2007. This is the first time a company from the Japanese printing industry has been selected.

To compile the Global 100, Corporate Knights Inc., a Canadian CSR magazine publisher, and Innovest Strategic Value Advisors, an American investment research company, assess about 1500 public-listed companies that make up the MSCI World Index. They select 100 corporations that are highly evaluated for pursuit of sustainablity, because of their outstanding management ability to cope with risks for environmental, social problems and governance and to grab business related to these problems.

In the 2007 list, Toppan Printing was recognized as the best among the printing industry sector, with regard to Human Capital, one of the main areas assessed. The company also received recognition for its initiatives in areas such as stakeholder relations, supply chain management, governance structure focused on sustainability, promotion of environmental management, innovation in environmentally friendly products and the company-wide adoption of green purchasing practices.

Toppan will strengthen its CSR-related activities and continue to pursue sustainability, aiming to be a strong company that is respected and trusted both in Japan and overseas.
