Sagawa Express Launches Eco-Friendly Computer Delivery Service
Sagawa Express Co., a leading Japanese trucking and home delivery company, launched on November 1, 2005 a personal computer (PC) delivery service that employs inventive reusable packing materials when PCs are picked up from homes or offices to be delivered to manufacturers for repairs.

By using this new package, PC makers and customers can lighten their workload of packing and unpacking PCs and solve the problem of waste disposal after delivery. In addition, the materials used in the box can be crushed and recycled as building material or for other uses after its life as a box is over, meaning that this new service promotes all of the 3-R principles of "reduce, reuse and recycle."

There have also been concerns about possible damage to PCs during transport in conventional cardboard boxes. This new package eliminates worries about the impact of transport on these PCs because of its highly cushioning interior. The boxes come in six sizes to fit any type of PC from notebook to desk top. Sagawa plans to market this new service to PC companies nationwide.
