Patagonia Quickly Sells-Out T-Shirts with Environmental Messages
Patagonia Japan announced that it has sold out T-shirts designed to raise public awareness about the environment. The company launched sales of the long-sleeved "Time's Up" T-shirts at the beginning of January 2005 through its 40 authorized dealers nationwide, and all were sold-out by the end of March. Patagonia donated 500 yen (about U.S.$5) per shirt to environmental groups from the price of 4,410 yen (about U.S.$42) per T-shirt.

The backs of the 100 % organic cotton T-shirts sported messages about pressing environmental problems in different regions in Japan, where the time is "running out" to address the problems.

The donations went to six groups: Sanru River Protection Team (Hokkaido), the No More Dams Network in Yamagata, Kenju-no-kai (Tokyo), Surfrider Foundation Japan (mainly Kyoto), the Fishers' Union of the Yatsushiro River (Kumamoto), and Dugong Network Okinawa.
