Honda Launches Membership-Based Car Sharing System in Singapore
Honda Motor Co., Ltd. started a membership-based car sharing system in Singapore, with three designated parking lots in the Central Business District in Singapore and 15 Honda Civic Hybrid cars. Fifty members can access these cars by making reservations via PC or mobile phone. The annual membership fee is 300 Singapore dollars (about U.S.$170), and the daytime user fee (from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.) is 6.9 Singapore dollars (about U.S.$4) for the first 30 minutes. Honda introduced this system with support from the Singapore government, which is actively promoting environmental measures.
